Faithless, Stupid, or Crazy?

You decide.

KIEV (Reuters) - A man shouting that God would keep him safe was mauled to death by a lioness in Kiev zoo after he crept into the animal's enclosure, a zoo official said on Monday.

"The man shouted 'God will save me, if he exists', lowered himself by a rope into the enclosure, took his shoes off and went up to the lions," the official said.

"A lioness went straight for him, knocked him down and severed his carotid artery."
As for me and my house, we will stick with good old-fashioned snake handling.

Faith is only as good as the principles upon which it is founded. Faith in a false principle is a Satanic construct. God is under no obligation to supercede natural laws when we try to force him to show us a sign by engaging in idiotic exploits.

This reminds me of times in my life when I have tried to bargain with God -- on my terms. Bad idea.

I pretty much agree with you, RU.

It seems like a story about a misguided zealot (read: idiot) vs. lion story comes along about every year. As far as I can recall, the lions are still undefeated.

I'm thinking an attack by a lion might not be that bad of a way to go. Yes, it would be scary, but those large felines seem to make short work of their victims. (Exhibit A: Roy, of Siegfried and Roy.)
