The Ice Shall Flow Down
The New York Times has an article about the dramatic melting of Arctic ice this summer. There is also an accompanying interactive graphic that illustrates it.
I guess we should expect the Ten Tribes to appear from the middle of the earth soon.
(Just in case, that was a joking allusion to an old folk-doctrine/theory that the lost tribes of Israel live inside the earth.)

Years ago, I remember hearing the speculation that the opening of the northwest passage could be a fulfillment of the following prophecy. Of Particular interest is the part about the "ice shall flow down at their presence."

This had to do with the folklore that the 10 tribes lived at the north pole. But some legitimate research has been done into the ten tribes being identified in mongolia and siberia (North) is of interest.
Your post has given us hope. We can't wait for this stuff to be done melting, so we can finally come out. Living underground is no picnic. Everyone's getting a little stir crazy, and our potato pearl supply just ran out.
The current issue of Discover has an interesting article about lakes & rivers under the two miles of ice at the Antarctica, including the world's 6th largest lake. That must be where they are, since Mormons... er... the 10 tribes probably like to go boating.
